Education For Students With Special Needs
American education system tries to mainstream the education of students with special needs as much as possible. Only when the students have needs that make mainstreaming impossible will they be enrolled in special schools. Such students will be attending classes for the same amount of time as the regular students.
Every year the progress will have to be assessed and every three years they will have to be tested to see if the special services need to be continued. In the American education system, there are 13 categories of special needs and the students will be placed in their respective groups.
