Since elementary or primary education is compulsory it is extremely rare to see a child who is not educated. Hence the standards of education are very high among the children. Since there is a lot of freedom and independence given to the children, we can see that a variety of skills are developed. This ensures that talents are not wasted. The need to go to university rests solely on the student and he or she can decide the time they will join. This decreases the stress on the youngsters. It is very common to see them take a year of two off and pursue their interests. This ensures better exposure to the environment and the society.
Extracurricular Activities and its Influence on the Education System
It is a well known fact about the influence of games, sports and extra curricular activities on the American Education System. There is a lot of motivation and importance given to sports and it forms an integral part of the curriculum. Gym class is a part of the course and this is compulsory to clear school. The various types of clubs and sports teams which have become very popular are an indication. They have become so popular that some of the future celebrity athletes are bred from them. Some popular sports include basket ball and baseball which have achieved a lot of attention.
College and University Education in the States
The university level education system in the States is one of the best in the world. It has the highest number of foreigners coming in to study. The number of graduates in the United States is one of the highest in the world. All these are pointers to how good the system and the quality of the education system are. The universities provide a lot of different types of courses. The sheer number of courses will tell us how much choice one has. The faculty of most of these popular universities are top class and the campuses are a class apart.
Private Schools and their influence on The Education System
Private schools are independent from the government in many ways. They have private funding. This means that they will essentially be much richer than the government schools. It has been seen that even though they may be richer, they are not always in par with the government ones in terms of the quality. There are some which stand out and this is natural but when we compare most of the schools, there seems to be not much of a big difference. The government run schools will have a lot of freedom and much more diversity in its student population making it an additional advantage.
Influence of the Curriculum in Education
The curriculum forms a very important part of the entire process of education. It has been seen that there is a lot of differences and influences in the curriculum as we move from state to state. This is area specific and is not a bad thing. The variety of the subjects offered is very high. This ensures that the child can choose the one which he is comfortable with. The immense amount of choice of subjects makes education fun and entertaining. This will ensure that the child is interested in coming back to school thereby decreasing the drop out rate.
The Educational Grading System
A set of grades are assigned to the student depending on his or her performance in various aspects. Tests are conducted on a regular basis. This will ensure that the child is able to keep up with the rate of study. If it is seen that the child is lacking in his grades, then special attention is given to him so that he does not lag behind. The grading system has a much larger scope than the scoring system which is dependent on the textual information. Projects and assignments also make up a very important part of the set up.

We see that a lot depend on the education system and its ability to stimulate the thinking capacities of the children. This is where multi layered system is important. Impetus is given to talents and various skills and abilities. It is has been found that not every child develops at the same rate. Hence there should be a balance given to the entire process. The various levels of education which are presently in place have been designed with this in mind. The growth of the child will be in tandem with the amount of information which is given to it. This will ensure that there is no over loading.

A parent is born at the same time as the child. Hence there is a need to educate the parent to be a parent as much as there is need to educate the child. There are specialized courses that train adolescents, newlywed couples or parents to be in the imperative subject of parenting. This form of education includes a list of things like normative behavioral patterns, real life situations, ways to strengthen family bonds and make happy families, supported by facts, figures and real life experiences, examples and role plays. This education also helps in reducing the ill effects of early pregnancy, infidelity etc.
Special Education
Special education is imparted to those who are physically challenged or have the inability to learn in accordance to the regular schools. In US institutions imparting special education fall under IDEA act. The onus of shaping up the future of such special students, in a more open minded environment, and ensuring that they are trained vocationally to be given a fair and equal chance in the professional and societal arena lies on the combined effort of the educator and family. There is special syllabus created in order to provide these students with a holistic development ensuring that their self esteem is enhanced all the while.
